A digital twin is essentially a virtual replica of a physical object, system, or process. It's a concept that has gained significant traction in various industries, from manufacturing to healthcare and urban planning. The purpose of a digital twin is to bridge the gap between the physical and digital worlds, allowing for real-time monitoring, analysis, and optimization of the physical entity. When we talk about a digital twin, we're referring to a comprehensive digital model that mirrors the behavior, characteristics, and functionalities of its real-world counterpart.
