Abstract
As the most basic unit of production and life in rural areas, village is an important link to achieve the dual carbon target. This paper takes Jiangsu province as an example to study the spatio-temporal dynamics of the carbon effect of village land use change in Jiangsu province from 1990 to 2020, using the methods of carbon emission coefficient, geometric center of gravity transfer and Molain Index. The results show that: (1) the village carbon emissions show an overall carbon emission effect. The carbon emissions in northern and southern Jiangsu are higher than those in central Jiangsu, and the focus of carbon emissions falls on Huai'an; (2) the average carbon emission intensity of villages in all counties and districts was decreasing year by year. The average carbon emission intensity of southern Jiangsu was significantly higher than that of middle and northern Jiangsu. The focus of the intensity was on Yangzhou, while the focus of the high value was on Nantong and Zhangjiagang, the low-value center of gravity is in Lianyungang. The study on the carbon effect of village land use change shows that: (3) the carbon effect of other land use types flowing into village land shows an overall emission trend; The comprehensive carbon effect of village land use change shows the trend of carbon emission. The inter-annual carbon effect of village land use change shows the carbon absorption effect. (4) the spatial pattern of average land-use carbon emission intensity was high in the south and low in the north, and the center of gravity was concentrated in the middle and west of Jiangsu province. The results of this study can provide scientific decision-making support for the formulation of corresponding countermeasures for carbon reduction and sequestration, and can also provide methodological reference for other places to carry out such work.
