Abstract
Porous FeCoNiCrAlx high-entropy alloys (HEAs) with different atomic fraction of Al were prepared by thermal explosion of FeCoNiCr medium-entropy alloy with Al elemental powder as a candidate material for high temperature filtration. Compared with the traditional preparation methods, this method is faster and lower energy consumption. The intermetallic compound B2 phase is introduced into the solid solution of the high entropy alloy, which combines the advantages of the ordered intermetallic compound and the disordered high entropy alloy in high temperature filtration. The effects of Al atomic fraction on the pore structure parameters, phase composition and microstructure of FeCoNiCrAlx were studied. The mechanical properties, oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance of Feconicralx were evaluated. The results show that the pore porosity of FeCoNiCrAlx can be improved significantly with the increase of Al atom fraction, and the plasticity of Feconicralx can be decreased but still maintain good strength. The composition of the oxide film with high Al content is transformed from Cr type to Al type, which has good antioxidant properties. In electrochemical corrosion, the formation of passivation film also improves the corrosion resistance of the material.
