Abstract
In order to thoroughly investigate the complex causes and internal logic of chemical enterprise explosion accidents, this study analyzes 30 investigation reports of explosion accidents that occurred in Chinese chemical enterprises between 2013 and 2022. Based on the REASON theoretical model, this study constructs a framework for analyzing the causes of chemical enterprise explosion accidents, covering four dimensions: organizational influence, unsafe preconditions, unsafe supervision, and unsafe acts. Using the fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) method, this study delves into the intrinsic mechanisms and causal grouping paths of explosion accidents. The results of the study indicate that the occurrence of chemical enterprise explosion accidents is the result of the coupling of multiple factors, and there are five complex paths of accident causation; organizational management and safety supervision have a direct and significant impact on the occurrence of chemical enterprise explosion accidents, and it is imperative to implement targeted measures to reduce the occurrence of accidents. The findings of the study contribute to enhancing the theoretical understanding of the complex causation of chemical enterprise explosion accidents and provide valuable insights for the prevention and management of chemical enterprise explosion accidents.
